• How do I score design submissions?
Once you have registered and logged in, you can score submissions by navigating to the ‘Score Designs' section, clicking on a design submission currently open for voting and scoring on a scale of 1-5 (5 being the highest ranking).
• Who decides on which ones are the winning submissions?
You do! That's the beauty of it. Every couple of weeks, we look at the votes garnered by designs submitted, the comments on the design scrapbooks, and the fit with the essence of Ink Fruit and pick the top 3-4 designs and announce them winners. We will also reveal the scores for these winning designs and the number of people who voted for that design.
• How do I submit to the photo gallery?
Easy! Just click yourself (or your friend) in an Ink Fruit tee and send it to us! Your picture, if accepted, will be used to display the tee in the ‘Shop' section. We periodically review the photographs sent in and pick some of you guys to win goodies!
• How does inkfruit select the winning design ?
Inkfruit shortlists the winning designs based on number of votes, average scores, comments and number of “I will buy this tee” clicks for that design on the website.
We also give different weightage to votes depending on the seniority of a member. A Hall of Fame members vote would hold more weightage than that of a regular member. In the same way, a regular members vote would hold more weightage than a nonmember.
However, all above stated channels are used for feedback only. Though we rarely make an exception to community feedback, the ultimate decision of declaring the winner rests with us.
• How does scoring/voting work on inkfruit ?
After your design is accepted on Inkfruit, it will be on the site for the next 90days. The first 15days the design will be put to vote and comment by Inkfruit’s community. The design may be announced as a winner any time in the remaining 75days the design will be on the site.
Based on total score received and number of people who have voted the design, average score is calculated and displayed once the voting is over.
Yet, this average score is a guideline to judge how a design has fared. Before announcing the winners the top contenders are selected and the votes each design has received is segregated by giving different weight ages depending on the seniority of the voter on the site. So a ‘Hall of Fame’ members vote would hold greater weightage than that of a regular members vote.
This ensures that the winners on Inkfruit are individuals with the best designs and not the biggest social network.
• Can I remove my submission after 90 days?
Yes, if after the 90-day period is over, you would like to remove your design from the site or would like to upload it anywhere else, you may do so. All you need to do is drop us a mail at kais(at)inkfruit(dot)com and you design will be deleted.
• Can I remove my submission when the voting is still on?
No, when you have submitted your design to Inkfruit, our terms clearly state that once uploaded on Inkfruit, the design will remain on the site for 90 days. Within this time, if the design is declared a winner then Inkfruit acquires the rights to the design.
• How do I vote on my favourite design?
Just click on the ‘vote’ section on Inkfruit.com and then on ‘new designs’. You will see all the designs that are currently on voting. If you like any one, just click on the design and you can vote on it on a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best)
• What do I receive on winning a design competition?
Inkfruit has two kinds of competitions:
Firstly the ‘Always On’ Contest and the ‘Talking Tees’ Contest, which are competitions that runs through the year. Designers across the world submit awesome graphics on any and every theme possible for the ‘Always On’ contest.
The talking Tees contest on the other hand allows entries which are rich and exciting but have a textual message central to the design. The entries are up for vote for a period of 15 days and at the end of this period, based on voting scores as well as comments, they might be declared as winners.
Three winners are announced for the Inkfruit Always On Contest every 15days. Prizes worth Rs20,004 are given away every month, with each of the 6 winning designs getting prizes worth Rs3334!
Each winner gets :
- 2500 rupees cash, moolah, et all!
- Entry into the Inkfruit Hall of Fame & a Certificate for the same!
- 1 Free T-shirt, with your design on it of course!
- 1 Coffee Mug, with your design as well!
Winners are announced for the Talking Tees Contest whenever a great message t-shirt comes up. This could be 3 winners a month or just 1. Prizes worth Rs9336 are reserved for every month, with each winning design getting prizes worth Rs2334!
Each winner gets :
- 1500 rupees cash, moolah, et all!
- Entry into the Inkfruit Hall of Fame & a Certificate for the same!
- 1 Free T-shirt with your design on it of course!
- 1 Coffee Mug with your design as well!
Secondly, there are thematic contests from time to time where designers need to upload graphics that strictly fit into a certain theme. If a graphic does not match the theme, it will automatically be shifted to the Always On contest or the Talking Tees contest as the case might be. For these thematic contests, the contest page carries the prize details and this varies from contest to contest.
• How does inkfruit pay the winning designers ?
We give the option to the winning designer. We can make the payment by cheque or PayPal.
• How does the challenger section on inkfruit work?
The designs that feature on the challenger section are designs that have not won a contest but have been close contenders. If a design from this section keeps receiving many comments and votes, it still has a chance to be declared a winner.
• What is the critique section ?
The critique section includes a list of designs that need a bit of reworking before they can be put up on the voting section.
Anyone can comment on a design in the critiques section. Based on the comments your design receives, you can tweak the design a bit and re-upload it.
• I am not an Indian citizen, can I still participate on inkfruit ?
Definitely, we would be happy to have you on-board!
• Do I keep the rights for my winning entry?
Inkfruit has exclusive rights to print the winning design on apparels and paper and mugs and bags. To know more, please refer to our legal policy.
• How long does it takes for a submission to reflect on voting page?
It takes 48-72 hrs for our admin team to review new designs and accept or reject them. If they are accepted, your design will be visible on the voting page, and if not, you will receive a mail intimating you about the same.
• Can I resubmit my design for voting if I am not happy with the score?
A design which has once been uploaded and voted on, cannot be re-uploaded in its existing form. However, you can look at the comments and suggestions made by Inkfruit members - rework on the design and then re-upload it in the competition for voting.
• What does “I’d buy this" link mean ?
If you like a design and would love to buy it if it wins the contest, you can click the ‘ I’d buy this’ link and if it does win you will receive a mail telling you that the design has won.
• Can I submit a print only to be printed on mug?
No, all our designs are printed on t-shirts and a select few are printed on mugs.
• My design was not selected as a winner. Still I would like to have my design on t-shirt/mug ? Is it possible?
No. Inkfruit does not do custom printing as of now. A design will be available under Inkfruit only if it is selected by all of you as the best! No other design will be made available either on a t-shirt, mug, poster or any other canvas.
• Why was my design rejected?
A design can be rejected because of the following reasons:
1. Colors used in the design. Color Gradations are not accepted. Therefore,
photo-content of any kind is not accepted. Total number of colors used in a
submission also needs to be below 5 in number.
2. Same design being submitted repeatedly. In this case duplicate entries
will be removed. You cannot submit one design in multiple competitions
either.
3. Offensive content of any kind. If we receive complaints of either adult
content being uploaded or of the creation being picked up from elsewhere, we
will remove the design.
4. Infringement of copy rights. If the design submitted by you resembles
exactly or closely an image/design belonging to some other name or source.
5. Design has consistently been scored very low by the Inkfruit community,
has received no comments/discouraging comments or a combination of both low
scores and negative comments.
6. The quality of jpeg/png/gif image submitted was of poor quality,
affecting the visibility. Hence, the voting or comment process would not
have done justice to your design.
7. Our screening committee has decided not to release this design for
voting. No, we are not policing submissions on the website. However, it
happens at times that submissions like 'I love inkfruit' plain text qualify
as per the do’s and don’ts, but do not bring any creative work to the
inkfruit platform.
• May I know specific reason for the rejection of my design(s)?
Definitely, you are entitled to know why you creation has been rejected. Just drop a mail to kais@inkfruit and we will get back to you with the reason.
• I am unable to upload my design/art work. Please help.
If you are facing problems in uploading your design on Inkfruit this can only be because of the following reasons:
1. File uploaded must be square (width=height) and 500px by 500px. Rectangular files will get cropped and not appear correctly.
2. File uploaded must be within 150kb in size.
• What do I get for uploading my photo on inkfruit?
You get 50 reward points for submitting a photo on Inkfruit. You can use these reward points to get some awesome discounts.
• ‘I swear I saw someone wearing inkfruit tee’. Can I submit that photo?
No, only a proud inkfruitian can flaunt their tee by submitting their own picture.
• Why was my photo declined on inkfruit?
The photos you upload should have you with your Inkfruit t-shirt. If the photo you upload doesn’t have a Inkfruit t-shirt it stands to be deleted.
• I want to delete some of the comments on my designs/profile ? Can I do this ?
Comments that have been posted under your designs can’t be deleted. Yet, if you would like to delete designs from ‘my scraps’ section there is a delete option that you can use.
• Hey, I just noticed that a design on which voting is on has been copied form some other website. How can I report this?
Below each design that is open to voting, you will find a ‘report abuse’ button. Click on it and type in the URL where the design is copied from. The design will be deleted from the site and strict action will be taken against the designer.
